Take Two Beers and Jump [17 Aug 2010|01:45am]
[ mood | awake ]

"What's the biggest size you do?"
"8x10"
"8x10 is the biggest size you do?"
"Yes."
"You don't do anything bigger than an 8x10?"
"NO!"

Don't even get me started on people that ASK "how big an "8x10" is?".

Not a Good Computer Week [14 Aug 2010|02:11am]
[ mood | relieved ]

We've been having a bunch of issues with our computer lately, so I spent two days this week backing up files I wanted to keep and then I formatted the hard drive. Then, of course, I spent two days updating Windows XP, since once reinstalled, it needed 5 years worth of updates. It IS kind of awesome having a computer with literally NOTHING other than the operating system. I may do this with the next computer I buy just to make absolutely sure it has ONLY what I want on it (which is usually not anything it comes with). Unfortunately, I was looking into the troubles I had been experiencing before the format and it does seem that the hard drive is slowly "falling down like dominoes" according to what I've read. We all know nothing lasts forever, I guess. Pair this with the fact that the processor ALSO took a nose dive and had to be replaced at work, and I'm getting a little tired of dealing with computers this week. Spent all morning on Wednesday AND Thursday on the phone with tech support. This pretty much happens every year, every August, because that's when Kodak rolls out the new software, so it WAS kind of expected, but both happening at home and work during the same week was a bit much. Pretty glad the week is OVER.

Why is it almost 3 am?? [06 Aug 2010|02:59am]
[ mood | indifferent ]

I'm hoping that I'll have something to write about as we make our move to California next year. WELL, 10 months, now! It's just really hard to explain to people when they ask, "What's up?" or "What's new??" that "Well, rather than buying everything I see just because I want it and eating dinner at a restaurant every night and going on 2 or 3 vacations per year, we have decided to curb ALL of our spending so we can pay off credit card debt and move to California in 2011 once our car is paid off.". I mean, really. I go to work, and I come home. That's it. WELL, in order to keep me home, I HAVE been playing World of Warcraft, but again, "I've been playing an online game that's over 5 years old to curb my spending so I can move to California.". It's just nothing to write home OR keep a journal about.

Things That Really Bother Me: Recipes [17 May 2009|02:13am]
[ mood | annoyed ]

Frozen Watermelon Pops

Ingredients
1 small watermelon, or 1/4 of a large one

Directions

Cut the watermelon's soft insides into chunks and remove the seeds with your fingers. Stuff the chunks in the molds and stab them with a fork until they've released enough juice to fill in the gaps.
Freeze for 2 hours, or until solid. (It will all depend on how fast your freezer works.)
To unmold, fill a bowl or pot with the hot water, and dip the molds in it until you can wiggle the pops out by their handles. If you're using paper cups, just tear the paper away.

Or, I don't know... save yourself TWO HOURS and just eat the damn watermelon!!!!

Celebrate You! [06 Mar 2009|01:47am]
[ mood | excited ]

Everyday is the right day
It’s easy to understand
‘Cause you get the chance and you take it
Make it the best you can make it
Why should you hold back?

It’s the time of your life
You don’t want to miss out
On right here and now
There’s so many reasons why
You don’t wanna stop
It’s your chance, live it up
And everything you do
Celebrate you
Celebrate you

Everytime is the right time
So make every second count
Go for your dream, you can live it
Reach for the skies, no limit
Celebrate what you’re all about

It’s the time of your life
You don’t want to miss out
on right here and now
There’s so many reasons why
You don’t wanna stop
Here’s your chance, live it up
And everything you do
Celebrate you

You, come on, make the party last forever and ever
Have the best time you’ve ever had
Let go break free, yeah!

Celebrate you

Everyone has a reason
A reason to celebrate, yeah
‘Cause you get the chance and you take it
Make it the best you can make it
What you waiting for today?

It’s the time of your life

Two Brand New Kiss Flavors! [18 Feb 2008|11:39pm]
[ mood | caffeinated ]

Someone left an open bag of Lemon Creme Kisses in the breakroom today which means HELLO FREE SAMPLE, so I tried one and they are totally heaven! They remind me the Chalet Cream Girl Scout Cookies, the ones that are shortbread cookies with one half package of lemon cream and one half package of vanilla cream. They were always one of my favorite two Girl Scout Cookies! (Uh, DUH! Samoas, of course!)The difference is, theese actually leave a taste in your mouth like you just had a real lemon. I love it! I seriously have a right mind to melt these down and dip shortbread cookies in them! YUM!

Chocolate World had Champagne Kisses in December for the New Year, but Target got them in February to celebrate Valentine's Day. Either way, I knew that I wanted them in December, but I didn't want to pay $8.99 for them! I was so glad that I decided to check out Valentine's clearance today because low and behold they had one left at 75% which I scooped up immediately! I think they are ok, but not great, as I have already been spoiled by the Choxie Champagne Truffles! (They are so wonderful! It's like you can feel the champagne fizz when you dissolve them in your mouth!) I think these will mostly be hard to find in stores.

NEW Hershey's Kisses [30 Jan 2008|01:25am]
[ mood | full ]

New for Valentine's Day:

Trio. They're a blend of milk, dark and white chocolate. I really like them.

And, recycled for St. Patrick's Day:

Creme de Menthe. These are ok, but "recycled", because they bear an uncanny resemblance to:

Mint Truffle Kisses, which were released for Christmas, but I don't believe I posted about them. The Mint Truffle may have just the tiniest bit of creaminess to them, over the Creme de Menthe, but overall it really is the same Kiss. I like them both.

"New York Cheesecake" Hershey's Kisses [19 Jan 2008|11:54pm]
[ mood | not impressed ]

A friend from My Space mentioned that she tried "Cheesecake flavored Kisses". "Cheesecake flavored Kisses??" I think to myself... I know nothing of "Cheesecake flavored Kisses"! SO naturally today I decided to seek them out. For starters, I don't appreciate the "Kisses Bar" mentality. These are the packages that you can find at the front checkouts in stores with the rest of the candy bars. It's 99 cents for a whopping 5 Hershey's Kisses! Now, these may be slightly larger than an actual Kiss, but still. Me thinks not. So if she hadn't mentioned them, I wouldn't have known to look for them. I do not love these Kisses. Cheesecake is one of my fave desserts EVER. There was nothing in the flavor of these that even remotely reminded me of cheesecake. The wrapper also indicates that they used the "extra creamy milk chocolate", of which I am also not a fan. Definite pass on these in the future!

Completely random Disneyland picture update [19 Oct 2007|03:00am]
[ mood | awake ]

Yeah, un hunh. That's right. We totally saw Jack Sparrow!

Jimmy C(andy) Corn from Candy Corn Acres. I think we actually had more fun with the Halloween face characters on this trip than we did with the regular Disney characters.

Meet the Robinsons characters:

Louis

Wilbur

The blonde girl sitting next to me TOTALLY grabbed and held my leg on the way down the first drop. lol It was hot. And what I assume was her boyfriend looked like he was going to cry. LOVE IT. And the fat guy eclipsing Clint in the picture stank so bad that it was making my eyes water. Good times, good times.

A few of my faves from Disneyland [19 Oct 2007|02:34am]
[ mood | awake ]

So, first up... two of the main reasons we trekked to California:
Haunted Mansion Holiday

The Submarine Voyage

While the Mansion didn't disappoint, I'm a little up in the air with the Subs. We waited in line for an hour. I have never, in the history of waiting in lines at theme parks, waited that long for a ride. It's something I do NOT do. If I would've waited twenty, I might have said I loved it. After waiting an hour for it, I just wanted to get it over with. And go back to the Haunted Mansion. lol

I kind of used my show stalking abilities to get a picture of Clint and I with "Upton O. Good" from the Golden Screams show. We definitely caught him off guard! lol

We stopped at the French Market to get, what I will refer to from now on as, an AWFUL MINT JULEP! (UGH!! It was like drinking toothpaste!!!) What I didn't expect was this absolutely beautiful chocolate torte with Jack Skellington on top of it. And OH, was it rich! We kept the Jack Skellington, of course!

I'm packing double Zurg heat! What are you going to do NOW, Buzz Lightyear?!?

Is this smarmy Oogie Boogie not the cutest thing ever? I should've purchased him and taken him home. Now he belongs to some Asian tourist(I'm sure!).

Clint rode Splash Mountain by himself this time around, while I chilled with the Pooh characters. Jurassic Park was enough water ride for one week, thank you very much. I couldn't deal with two water rides in the same week, as I LOATHE them. Got to appreciate the single rider line!
More to come. Or maybe not. It all depends on the mood I'm in.

Universal Studios Hollywood [15 Oct 2007|11:23pm]
[ mood | great! ]

We started our vacation outside of our usual comfort zone... we went to Universal Studios Hollywood for the day! Overall, I wasn't wowed... the Mummy ride was completely retarded... I got WET on Jurassic Park(grrrr!)... the tram tour was all pomp and no circumstance. They had a costumed character of FIEVEL from An American Tail. I mean REALLY!? They are stuck in the past, and not in a good way. Did ANYONE see, or even enjoy The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift or Big Fat Liar? I just couldn't believe they were even admitting to producing those movies. They got rid of the Back to the Future ride and are building a Simpsons themed "Krustyland" area, but I highly doubt that alone would make me want to go back.
What DID I enjoy, you may ask? THE COSTUMED CHARACTERS, OF COURSE!!!

Here we are in front of the globe. You have to do it.

Shrek, and much to my surprise, a face character Fionna!

SpongeBob

And now, the part that puts the biggest smile on my face:

Spiderman's ASS! Is that beautiful, or what? He was the whole package!

I think he liked us. ;)

Captain America was looking really good, but he was more than likely padding. If that's actually him HUBBA HUBBA! I really wanted to see Storm, because I LOVE her! So that was cool.

Wolverine was also pretty adorable. I wanted to get a picture of his teeth because they were fangs and just made him that much sexier, but he was being all weird.

So a great day, based solely on Spiderman's hottness!

Candy Corn Kisses! [02 Sep 2007|09:33pm]
[ mood | excited ]

These are brand new at Target, and they are on sale for $2 this week! They are much creamier than actual candy corn, without the waxy corn syrup aftertaste. I really like them. Now all I need is the Candy Corn Jones Soda, and it will start to feel even more like Fall! (Already enjoying the cooler weather!)

Houlihan's [22 Jul 2007|10:28pm]
[ mood | calm ]

On Saturday we decided to go to Houlihan's since we had never eaten there and I had the certificate for a free entree. Houlihan's is located right outside of Hersheypark on Chocolate Avenue.

Welcome to Houlihan's!Collapse )

" Survey for the "Elderly"" [29 May 2007|12:25am]
[ mood | chilly ]

Survey for the elderly lol!
(Meant to be completed by those out of high school)
Tired of all of those surveys made up by high school kids?
'Have you ever kissed someone?'
'Missed someone?'
'Told someone you loved them?'
'Drank alcohol?'
Here are 50 questions for the people who are a little more "mature"...*apparently the person who made up this survey skips numbers too, JUST LIKE THE HIGH SCHOOL KIDS!!!*Collapse )

"The Beverly Experiment" [28 Feb 2007|01:53am]
[ mood | giggly ]

Should you find yourself in Walt Disney World, and more importantly Epcot, I invite you to visit "Club Cool", and with camera in hand, photograph your party (and don't forget to have someone take a picture of you!)experiencing Beverly for the first (and probably ONLY) time. It is a memory not to be missed. I was afraid one or both of us would be freaks and like it, but it turns out we passed with flying colors!

To slide show or not to slide show, that is the question? [28 Feb 2007|01:30am]
[ mood | bitchy ]

So is anybody actually watching the slide shows, or am I just making my pictures easier to bypass for those who aren't interested? I'm going to be kind of bitter if I'm doing all of this for nothing...
So in the meantime we'll do it the old fashioned way, and HELL NO I'm not cutting! You're just going to have to scroll past!

This is Clint. With a goat. It's becomming a tradition!

Expedition Everest(when we had Fast Passes and THOUGHT we were going to get to ride it!)

Our ride photo from Dinosaur! The thing was breathing warm, stinky air on us! >:( Even now, I make that face when I think about it! YUCK! I think I hate that ride.
